How do I publish my video on ScreenToaster.com?
- Once you have recorded a video, you can stream a preview of it.
- Click on the "Upload to ScreenToaster (High Quality)" button.
- Give a title and a description to your video, add some tags to help other users find it.
- Choose a category and a subcategory.
- Choose your privacy settings: public (default option) or private.
- Click on "Upload" to validate your video. The uploading process will start.
- You will be automatically redirected to the page of your video.
Warning: Since you don't "Upload" your video, it is not stored in your private space. If you don't upload your video, your screencast will be lost and not recoverable.
Warning: After having uploaded your video to ScreenToaster, you will be automatically redirected to the page of your video. If you want to upload your video to both YouTube and ScreenToaster, upload first on YouTube then on ScreenToaster. The contrary is not possible for the moment.
What category / subcategory may I choose?
By default, your video will be published in the Miscellaneous category ("Misc"), which gathers uncategorized videos.
ScreenToaster is organized in 9 categories: Web, Mobile, E-Learning, Software, Development, Design, Gaming, Timewasters and Partners.
Choosing the right category / subcategory may help other users find your video.
Privacy options
By default, your video is set to "public", which means that it will be published
on www.screentoaster.com
If you set your video to "private", the video will only be accessible from
direct URL and will not be indexed by Search engines.
Users will not be able to see it unless you send your video by mail or
embed it on a blog/website.
How can I make my video appear in the "Featured video" section?
A video becomes featured when the ScreenToaster team loves a video, saying "ok, let's publish it on the Homepage!".
Don't hesitate to send us the link of your best video at contact@screentoaster.com. Be creative!
10 rules to follow (or not) to be featured:
- Share your knowledge (teach us something!)
- Talk about hot topics and trends (review a new products, services and softwares)
- Record useful videos for the community (we'll always need a good Excel tutorial, even in two years)
- Show a new use of ScreenToaster (be creative and you'll be rewarded)
- Add at least subtitles.
- Even better with audio.
- Fantastic with a webcam.
- Focus on the quality of your video (the cleanest it is, the best chance you have)
- Choose your thumbnail with taste (if we click on it, be sure we'll watch it)
- Add a good description (be findable by users and add value to your content)
What is the "Partners" category?
The "Partners" category is a specific space dedicated to ScreenToaster's partners.
Request a partnership by contacting us at contact@screentoaster.com or using the contact form.
What is the "All the Howto's" and "All the Reviews" categories?
The "All the Howto's" and "All the Reviews" categories are automatically generated.
These two transversal categories gather the best videos categorized as "Howto's" or "Reviews".
How can I publish my video on YouTube.com?
- Once you have recorded a video, you can stream a preview of it.
- Click on the "Upload to YouTube (experimental)" button.
- Enter your YouTube login and password.
- If you do not have a YouTube account, check "Send as ScreenToaster"..
- Click on "Upload" to validate your video.
- The uploading process will start.
- You will be redirected to the page of your video.
Warning: This is an experimental feature. This functionality does not support audio, subtitles and webcam exports yet.
You may lose quality due to YouTube video compression.
